Printed training information. For each program level there is a teacher’s edition or guidebook that provides detailed information about planning, organizing, and conducting the course. Plus, you can find free, downloadable information on this site that is excerpted from these resources:
The Fitness for Life: Elementary School Wellness Coordinator’s Guide also includes instructions for organizing and implementing the program, and the accompanying DVD-ROM features instructional video segments for organizing group activities as well as a PowerPoint presentation to provide an overview for teacher training (see link to sample above). The Classroom Guides and Lesson Plans book include DVDs with instructional video segments that describe how to lead physical activities, including group activities.
In-service DVD. The Fitness for Life In-Service DVD for the high school text (free upon request with purchase of 25 student texts) features author Chuck Corbin conducting a virtual in-service to train teachers how to use the Fitness for Life high school program resources and implement the course.
