Fitness for Life: Middle School is a comprehensive program designed specifically to help middle school students to become active, fit, healthy, and well. Fitness for Life: Middle School fulfills a need for specific programs for middle school youth and prepares students for advanced level study at the high school level. NASPE standards for the middle school were used as a basis for developing the program. In addition to the central focus on healthy lifestyles, special features are included to help students learn about social interactions, diversity in physical activity settings, and the application of biomechanical principles.

Fitness for Life: Middle School is also fully integrated with Physical Best and FITNESSGRAM/ACTIVITYGRAM.

Instructors have been trained in special workshops conducted by Physical Best/NASPE to present workshops for teachers interested in implementing a Fitness for Life program. Physical Best Basic Instructor certification is required prior to participation in Fitness for Life instructor training.
