Topic 5.7 Active Recreation

Active recreation activities such as kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, and hiking allow you to learn about and experience the beauty of nature. They also provide health-related fitness benefits. If you live near the ocean or a lake, you probably have access to community programs such as sailing, kayaking, or canoeing.

Active recreation provides an opportunity to learn unique skills that are interesting and fun. Most important, by trying a few of these active recreation activities, you might find one that becomes part of your lifestyle.
