Change is often stressful for people. Because adolescence is a time of rapid change, being a teenager can be very stressful. Part of the stress can come from figuring out how you fit into new surroundings (e.g., friends, school). If you have a high self-esteem, this transition into the ’teens’ may be very easy for you.
