Topic 2.9 Levers


In this lesson in the textbook, you learned about three different kinds of levers. Levers in the human body were used as examples. Levers are present in many different situations and are used to do many different things. Some examples of the three kinds of levers are listed below.

First-class levers: seesaw, crowbar, hammer used for prying out a nail.

Second-class levers: wheelbarrow.

Third-class levers: shovel and broom, holding a flag (see photo).
