Topic 2.6 Common Injuries

Most sport- and exercise-related injuries are minor and require basic treatments. For example, ankle sprains can occur during running, tennis, and even bowling. Athletic trainers are professionals who treat injuries related to sports and exercise. All professional sports teams, college sports programs, and Olympic sports programs have professional athletic trainers on their staffs. Certified athletic trainers have, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in athletic training education. You can find out about becoming a professional athletic trainer at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Web site.
