Topic 2.2 Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q)

Health professionals all over the world use the PAR-Q. Developed in Canada, this simple questionnaire will let you know if you need to see a doctor before participating in physical activity or if you are ready to go.

For most people, physical activity should not pose any problems or hazards. PAR-Q is designed to identify the small number of adults for whom physical activity might be inappropriate or those who should have medical advice concerning the type of activity most suitable for them.

Completing the questionnaire will give you an idea about whether you should consult your doctor before starting an exercise program. Your doctor can advise you and your coach about which exercise and intensity are best for you.
