How much physical activity does my child need?

It is recommended that children accumulate at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day. The 60 minutes of activity can be accumulated using a combination of the activities in the Physical Activity Pyramid for Kids. Children should do some vigorous activity (steps 2 and 3) at least three days a week and some exercises for muscle fitness and flexibility (steps 4 and 5) at least three days a week.
